For those of you reading this and questioning where Plain City is and what can be enjoyed there, let me give  you a few ideas of how wonderful this little country town is.  Just outside Dublin and surrounded by the Big Darby and sprawling farm fields, Plain City is both suburban and rural providing many people a quiet hometown not found in the larger suburbs within Columbus, with amenities rural areas do not provide.

The Yutzy Farm Market is located on Converse Huff Road just off rt 42 in Plain City.  If you are looking for fresh produce, homemade jams, affordable cold cuts and cheeses and various locally produced items this is the place.
The Heritage Rail Trail is a multi-purpose trail that technically ends in Plain City off Cemetery Pike and begins in Hilliard.  If you're training for a half marathon this smooth, paved trail is a good option.  This trail is a mix of sunny and full shade, has plenty of benches for a rest and is relatively quiet with exception to the portions of the trail adjoining the parking lots and ball and dog parks in Hilliard.
When looking for a casual place to have a bite to eat, check out the Red Hen located on the corner of Rt 42 and West Main Street.  It has breakfast and lunch options, freshly brewed and locally roasted coffee from Hemisphere Coffee as well as pastries like giant cinnamon rolls, muffins, scones and doughnuts.  Don't miss this opportunity to enjoy lunch with a friend here, the prices are affordable and the service is friendly.
To conclude, nothing brings a community together more than special events and opportunities to make a new friend.  Plain City hosts an annual Steam Threshers Show, A Christmas Under The Clock event, offers free summer activities for kids such as a mini lesson with birds of prey and during the warm months of the year has weekly car shows near the Der Dutchman Restaurant.  It's a great place to hang out and has proven to attract regular attendees.  Next time you have an afternoon to spend checking out a not so far away location, drive a little further out and discover this quintessential Ohio town poised to welcome you as a friend and neighbor.
